Review of Acvenco iMobile App for iPad

We are a well-established medium sized import distributor in the FMCG sector operating in Ireland. We recently implemented a live implementation of the iMobile Sales app to 10 of our field sales executives on the iPad 2. We had previously operated sales capture and order transmission on a small PDA device over GPRS.

We reviewed a number of mobile sales device solutions available in the market. We were immediately won over by iMobile for the following reasons:

  • It utilises the proven Apple platform
  • The large Slate screen size offered far greater ease of use and visibility
  • Speed of transmission of orders straight to our back office ERP in seconds
  • It had a really clean easy to use view, and intuitive to touch
  • Easy to follow order process, minimal steps to complete multiple line orders even for long complex transactions.
  • Could be used in real time with the customer while in the retail unit
  • Ability to display catalogue and product photos
  • Speed and reliability of the interface with our back office ERP

In a side by side comparison with the other products considered, we chose iMobile;

  • Based on the latest OS from Apple.
  • The delivery approach by Acvenco, especially their ability and willingness to listen to the needs of our organisation and their delivery of excellent bespoke solutions.
  • We felt it was future proofed as it is easily updated to meet our changing business operations.
  • The product could be hosted and supported on a cloud so no need for a big Capex on servers and comms.

We have experienced immediate operational and efficiency benefits with the implementation of iMobile, and in particular by the Field Sales Executive when interfacing with the customer by:

  • It is so easy and quick to use in real-time while speaking to the customer.
  • Minimal training required going live; most of our guys were up and running in one day on the job.
  • Now gives access to real-time data never before available to our sales team including receivable balances, Inventory count, documents e.g. invoices and credit notes and full catalogues.
  • Can capture and print customer signature on screen.
  • Real time syncing of orders directly into to the sales order module on out ERP, saves time and money and leads to absolute accuracy in transmission in seconds.

The design, implementation and after sales support with Acvenco was seamless and felt like a real partnership. We would be happy to endorse the iMobile App to any individual or organisation who needs an excellent solution to field sales capture and transmission.

Integration with NAV: It is really is very tightly integrated with NAV so that the integrity of the data displayed in iShop is assured, as is the validity of the data taken into NAV.
Low overhead: Because of the way that iShop communicates with NAV, and despite the tight integration, we did not notice any change in the performance of NAV after implementing iShop.
Flexibility: We did a 3-way integration with NAV, iShop and our content management system and we are extremely happy with the results.
Useability: The iShop interface is very user-friendly and our customers have adapted to it releatively quickly.
Service: Because the Acvenco guys have a very strong background in NAV, any issues that arose during the development phase were dealt with quickly and efficiently.
iMobile: The other key feature of iShop that attracted us is the fact that once the links into NAV are created, it is very easy to implement the iMobile solution and we are looking at doing this in 2012.

We looked at a number of other potential solutions before going with iShop. In terms of ROI, the iShop solution was way ahead of the competition and we are very happy that we made the right choice.
